8480: | displayed musical talent. His father taught |
8481: | him singing, and he had violin lessons from |
8482: | the late John Edwards, and organ lessons |
8483: | from Dr. J. H. Edwards. Was a chorister at |
8484: | Holy Trinity Church, and, after leaving |
8485: | school, entered a newspaper office, singing, at |
8486: | times, at local concerts. He soon decided to |

8488: | Corporation of London Scholarship, entered |
