Anderson, Josephine

[E] Anderson, Josephine, born Bartolozzi,
mezzo-soprano singer, born at London in 1806.
She was a younger sister of Madame Vestris,
and studied under Corri, etc. In 1828 she
made her debut as Rosina in the " Barber of
Seville," at the Haymarket Theatre, London,
and afterwards sang at London and provincial
concerts. She died of consumption, on May
1, 1848, aged 42.
