- Costeley, William
[E] Costeley, William, Scottish composer,
was born in 1531. He settled in France as
organist to Henry 11. and Charles IX. He
was a naember of the society known as ' ' Puy
de musique a honneur de Ste. Cecile." He
died at Evreux in 1606. His works consist of
songs in Le Roy's Collections of Chansons, etc.,
and a treatise entitled "Musique," Paris, 1579.entry id: 102-R-46
