Crawford, William

[E] Crawford, William, composer and pianist,
was born in 1848 ; died at Glasgow, March 2,
1878. He composed a considerable number
of pieces for the pianoforte, many of which
were issued under the pseudonyms of "Rud-
olph Rookford," and "Frank B. Ashton. His
father, James Paul Ceawford (1825-1887),
is best known as a minor poet, his poem,
entitled " The Drunkard's raggit wean," being
a popular piece of its kind.
