[E] Gordon, John, musician, born at London,
March 26, 1702. Educated at Westminster
School and Trinity College, Cambridge. He
studied for the Law in 1718-22, aud became
Professor of Music at Gresham College, Jan-
uary 16, 1723. Called to Bar, 1725. He died
