[E] Atkinson, Frederick Cook, organist and
composer, born at Norwich, August 21, 1841.
Studied under Dr. Buck, and was assistant
organist at the Cathedral until appointed to
Manningham Church, Bradford. He gradu-
ated Mus. Bac, Cambridge, 1867, and in 1881
was appointed organist of Norwich Cathedral,
a post he resigned in 1885. Prom 1886, he
has been organist of St. Mary's Parish Church,
Lewisham. He has composed some services
and anthems ; a volume of Masonic music ;
songs and part-songs ; and pianoforte pieces.
