Jenkins, George

[E] Jenkins, George, composer and teacher
of dancing in Edinburgh and London, in the
latter part of the 18th century. He died at
London about 1806. Composer of Eighteen
airs for two violins and a bass, Edinburgh
[1789] ; Jenkins' thirty Highland airs, Lon-
don, 1791 ; New Scotch music, consisting of
slow airs, strathspeys, quick reels, country
dances, and a medley on a new plan, with a
bass for a violoncello or harpsichord, London
[1793].
