The British Musical Biography

[E] Leburn, Alexander, violinist, who was
born at Auchtermuchty, Fife, in 1767, and
was a teacher of music there. He was a self-
taught mathematician. He died at Auchter-
muchty, in March, 1836. He published "A
Collection of New Strathspey Reels, etc., with
a bass for the violoncello, or harpsichord,"
Edinburgh, 1793.
