Lorimer, John

[E] Lorimer, John, amateur composer and
artist, was Ijorn at Paisley, on June 9, 1812.
He was an artist and poet, and resided chiefly
in Paisley, where he died, on October 13, 1878.
He composed a number of psalm tunes, "Crook-
ston," etc., and several humorous songs, the best
known being " I'm ower auld to marry noo."
