author, born at Dundee, January 1, 1858. He
has been organist of High Church, Falkirk
since 1878, and has for many years acted as
condu'jtor of the Falkirk and Vale of Leven
Choral Societies. Author of " Scottish Church
Music, its composers and sources," Edinburgh,
1891, a work of much value and accuracy
which is particularly strong in its biographi-
cal details.
