[E] Lucas, Clarence, composer, born in Can-
ada, 1866, studied at the Conservatoire,
Paris, under Theodore Dubois. He has pub-
lished a number of pieces for pf., and is the
composer of the operas, " Anne Hathaway "
and " The Money Spider," the last produced
