McDonald, Malcolm

[E] McDonald, Malcolm, composer and
violoncello player, who lived in the latter part
of the 18th century. He resided at Inver,
in Dunkeld Parish, and played the violoncello
in Niel Gow's band. He is said to have died
at Inver. He published " A collection of
Strathspey reels, with a bass for the violon-
cello or harpsichord," Edinburgh, 1788. He
also issued three other collections of the same
kind ; 1789, 1792, etc.
