[E] M'Lachlan, John, musician, who was a
teacher in Glasgow, and precentor of the
North West Church from 1774. He died in
Glasgow in 1791. Compiler of "The Precen-
tor, or an easy introduction to church music,
with a choice collection of psalm tunes,"
Glasgow, 1776 (with Finlay) ; The Precentor,
