Megone, Norfolk

[E] Megone, Norfolk, conductor, born in
London, March 15, 1860. Studied as an
amateur under Otto Standke, at Bonn ; and
also Leipzig and Frankfort. On his return
to London he became connected with several
musical societies, and founded the Belsize
Amateur Orchestral Society. In 1882 he
organised the orchestra of the Strolling Play-
ers' Amateur Dramatic Club, and gave a
number of excellent concerts. He joined the
profession in 1889, and was appointed conduc-
tor of the Devonshire Park Concerts, East-
bourne ; also of the Private Banks Musical
Society in 1890. He has composed " ffinone,"
and other valses, for orchestra, etc.
