Miller, Edward

[E] Miller, Edward, Scottish musician, of
the early part of the 17th century, who was a
teacher at Edinburgh. He graduated M.A.
at Edinburgh University in 1624, and has
been identified as a teacher who taught
children in Blackfriars Wynd, Edinburgh.
He is best remembered as editor of "The
Psalmes of David, in prose and meeter, with
their whole tunes in foiire or mo parts, and
some psalmes in reports . . . ," Edinburgh :
heirs of Andrew Hart, 1635. The preface to
this work is signed " E.M.," and Miller has
been proved to have been the editor.
