[E] Molesworth, Lady, born Carstairs, a
soprano singer who was born about 1810. Her
father was Bruce Carstairs. She studied at
the R.A.M., and first appeard at a singer under
the professional name of Miss Grant. In 1831
she married Mr. Temple West, the virtuoso,
who died in 1839. She next married Sir
William Molesworth in 1844, and retired from
public life. She died on May 16, 1888.
