poet, was a bookseller in Glasgow at the end
of last and beginning of the present century.
Author of "Melody the soul of Music, an
essay towards the improvement of the Mu-
sical Art," Glasgow, 1798 ; reprinted in his
"Miscellanies in Prose and Verse," Glasgow,
1806.
