[E] Monro, George, composer and organist,
was born about the end of the 17th century.
He competed unsuccessfully against T. Rosin-
grave for the post of organist of St. George,
Hanover Square, London, 1725. Afterwards
he became organist of St. Peter, Cornhill, and
harpsichord jjlaj^er at Goodman's Fields
Theatre. He died at London in 1731.[W] Works. — Temple Beau, an opera. Songs :
