Morgan, J. Wilford

[E] Morgan, J. Wilford, tenor vocalist and
composer. He has sung in opera in London
and the provinces ; in the " Old Guard," and
other comic operas, at various times from
1872 to 1887. In 1888 he was appointed a
professor of singing at the Guildhall School
of Music. He is the composer of a cantata,
" Christian the Pilgrim " ; and of a number
of songs, some of which, as "My Sweetheart
when a Boy," have been very popular.
