Moulds, John

[E] Moulds, John, composer of latter part of
the 18th century. He was a composer to
Ranelagh Gardens, London, and to the theatres
he contributed The Phisiognomist, 1795, and
The Sultan, 1796, operas. Among his other
works may be named Collection of Favourite
Songs sung at Ranelagh, 1787 ; The Retro-
spector : a collection of sonnets [1790] . His
single songs include Caledonian maid [1790] ;
Cowslips of the valley ; Description of London
[1796] ; Edwin and Emma (by Mallet) ;
Deserted village (Goldsmith) ; Eleanor of
Exeter (by G. S. Carey) ; Link boy ; Nut-
brown maid, etc.
