[E] Mount Edgcumbe, Richard Edgcumbb,
2nd Earl, amateur composer and writer,
was born September 13, 1764. Married Lady
Sophia Hobart, daughter of the 2nd Earl of
Buckinghamshire. He died at Richmond,
Surrey, September 26, 1839. Composer of
" Zenobia," an opera. King's Theatre, London,
1800. Author of "Musical Reminiscences of
an Amateur, chiefly respecting the Italian
Opera in England, for fifty years, 1773 to
1823, London, 1823; 2nd edition, 1827; 3rd
edition, 1828 ; 4th edition, 1834.
