Nicholds, Joseph

[E] Nicholds, Joseph, composer and con-
ductor, was born at Sedgley. For some time
he acted as director of Wombwell's band, but
was afterwards a teacher of music. He died
a pauper in Dudley Union, February 18, 1860.
Composer of Babylon, oratorio ; The Triumph
of Zion, oratorio, Wolverhampton, September
17, 1844. Sacred Music, a selection of psalm
and hymn tunes, London [1820] , songs, etc.
