[E] Perronet, Rev. Edward, hymn-writer
and composer, was born in 1721. He was a
colleague of John Wesley, and afterwards
preached to the Countess of Huntingdon's
congregation at Canterbury Died at Canter-
bury, January 8, 1792. Author of " All hail
the power of Jesu's name," the well-known
