[E] Poole, Elizabeth, mezzo-soprano vocalist,
born in London, April 5, 1820. Made her debut
in opera at Drury Lane, 1834. Sang in the
United States, 1839. Was with the English
Opera Company at the Strand Theatre, 1848;
and, until 1870, was prominent both as a ballad
singer and an actress. She married a Mr. Bacon.
