[E] Porter, Walter, composer, was born
about the end of the 17tli century. Son of
Henry Porter, who was Mus. Bite, Oxford,
1600, and musician to James I. in 1603.
Gentleman of the Chapel Royal, 1616.
Master of Choristers, WesLminst.er Abbey,
1639, but was dismissed at tlie Rebellion.
