Pounds, Charles Courtice

[E] Pounds, Charles Courtice, vocalist and
actor, was born in London, May 30, 1869.
For some years he was a treble singer in
church choirs, but he afterwards studied at
the R.A.M. Travelled in the English pro-
vinces with concert parties, and sang in ora-
torio, but was most successful in the Gilbert
and Sullivan operas. He sang in Australia
in 1895, with the Williamson and Musgrove
Opera Company.
