Bateson, Thomas

[E] Bateson, Thomas, composer and or-
ganist, was born in the latter half of the
the 16th century. Organist of Chester Cathe-
dral, 1599. Resided in Ireland for many
years, from 1608. Organist and vicar choral
of Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, 1608.
Mus. Bac, Dublin. (The first on whom the
degree was conferred by the University).
The date of his death is unknown.

printed by the Musical Antiquarian Society
in 1846) ; Second set of madrigals, 1618 ;
Two madrigals in the Triumphs of Oriaua.
