Bayly, Thomas Haynes

[E] Bayly, Thomas Haynes, lyrical poet and
composer, born at Bath, October 13, 1797 ;
died London, April 22, 1839. He composed
the music for a large number of his own
ballads, such as The bower, the Carrier dove.
The Circassian, The Deserter, Fly away pretty
moth, &c., but most of his more popular
songs were set by Bishop, Knight, Lee, Loder,
and others.
