[E] Santley, Kate, actress and singer, ap-
peared at the Strand Theatre, 1870, in " St.
George and the Dragon." Sang in London
and the provinces in comic opera, from about
1876. Began a series of entertainments, with
drawing-room sketches, at Ipswich, in Oc-
tober, 1890. Was at Berlin, 1891, in "Faust
up to Date, and has now for some years been
lessee of the Royalty Theatre, London.
