Sexton, William

[E] Sexton, William, composer and organist,
born in 1764. Chorister in St. George's
Chapel, Windsor, and Eton College, 1773.
He studied under Edward Webb. Organist,
sub-precentor, and master of choristers, St.
George's Chapel, Windsor, 1801. He died
about 1824. Composer of anthems, glees, and
songs ; and edited Handel's Chandos Anthem,
1808.
