[E] Simper, Caleb, organist and composer,
born at Barford St. Martin, Wilts., September
12, 1856. Fourteen years organist at St.
Mary Magdalene, Worcester, and manager to
E. J. Spark. Now resident at Barnstaple,
devoting himself exclusively to composition.
He has composed a large number of simple
anthems — I will feed my flock ; He is risen ;
Fear not, O land ; Break forth into joy, etc. ;
also prize hymn tunes, Manchester Sunday
School Uijion, etc.
