Smith, Alice Mary

[E] Smith, Alice Mary, Mrs. Meadows
White, composer, born at London, May 19,
1839. She was a pupil of Sir W. Sterndale
Bennett and Sir G. A. Macfarren. In 1867
she was married to Mr. Frederick Meadows
White, Q.C., now a judge of the County of
Middlesex, and in the same year she was
elected an associate of the Philharmonic
Society. She died at London, December 4,
1884.
