Snow, Valentine

[E] Snow, Valentine, trumpet-player, who
was born about the beginning of the 18th
century. He succeeded John Shore as ser-
jeant-trumpeter to the King, in 1753. He
played the trumpet parts in Handel's ora-
torios, which were specially written for him.
He died in December, 1770.

[+] Moses Snow, father of above, was a Gentle-
man of the Chapel Royal, and lay-vicar of
Westminster Abbey. He graduated Mus.
Bac, Cambridge, in 1696, and died in 1700.
