[E] Summers, James Lea, composer and
pianist, born at London, 1837. Sou of
William Summers, a musician. He was
blind from his birth, but became a pupil of
Miss Kate Loder and of (Sir) G. A. Macfarren.
He apiDeared as a pianist at the Crystal
Palace about 1850-60. Died at London,
