[E] Taylor, Rev. John, clergyman and writer,
born at Lancaster in 1694 ; died at Warring-
ton in 1761. Author of " The Music Speech
at the Public Commencement ai Cambridge,"
London, 1730; "A Collection of Tunes in
various Airs, with a scheme for supporting
the spirit and practice of Psalmody in con-
gregations," London, 1750.
