[E] Thomson, James, musician, was pre-
centor of Lady Yester's Church, Edinburgh,
from 1800 to 1830. He was also a teacher of
music at Leith. Author of " Rudiments of
Music, to which is added a Collection of the
best church tunes, hymns, canons, and an-
