conductor, born at Sheffield, August 22, 1822.
Self-taught in music. Choirmaster since
about 1860 of the I'rimitive Methodist Chapel,
Heeley, near Sheffield. Composer of " Orig-
inal Tmres, Anthems, etc.," 1879, etc., and of
