Ward, John

[E] Ward, John, composer of the 16th and
17th centuries. He died about 1640. Com-
posed "The First Set of English Madrigals,
to 3, 4, 5, and 6 parts, apt both for viols and
voyces ; with a Mourning Song in memory of
Prince Henry.." London, 1613. Songs in
Leighton's "Teares," and service and anthem
in Barnard's collection.
