Bishenden, Charles James

[E] Bishenden, Charles James, bass vocalist
and teacher, born at Hemel-Hempstead,
Herts, in 1848. Has sung with success in his
native town and other places. He was one of
the early advocates for the adoption of the
French pitch in this country. In 1882 he
married Isabel Mary Beachey, a vocalist, who
has appeared with him at various concerts.
He is the author of a pamphlet, "The voice,
and how to use it," and " How to sing," etc.
