[E] Blake, Rev. Edward, composer, was born
at Salisbury, 1708. Fellow of Oriel College,
Oxford. Prebendary of Salisbury Cathedral,
and rector of Tortworth, Gloucester, 1757.
Perpetual Curate of St. Thomas' Church,
Salisbury. Vicar of St. Mary the Virgin,
Oxford, 1754. He died on June 11, 1765.
Composed anthems and instrmnental duets.
