- Bryne, Albert
[E] Bryne, Albert (or Albertus), composer and
organist, who flourished in the 17th century,
and was born about 1621, and died in 1669.
He was a pupil of John Tomkins, whom he
succeeded as organist of St. Paul's Cathedral
in 1638. Afterwards, he became organist of
Westminster Abbey. His compositions appear
in Boyce, Clifford, and some are in MS. in the
British Museum. They consist of services,
anthems, and organ music. His name is
variously spelt, Brian, Bryan, etc.entry id: 67-L-42
