Bryson, John

[E] Bryson, John, musician, who flourished
during latter part of 18th century. He was
manager to Robert Bremner at the Harp and
Hautboy, Edinburgh, from 1769, and suc-
ceeded him in the business in 1789, carrying it
on till 1818. Published "A Curious selection
of favourite Scots tunes, with variations ; to
which are added upwards of fifty favourite Irish
airs for a German flute or violin ; with a bass
for the harpsichord or violincello," Edin.
