The British Musical Biography

[E] Burnet, George, amateur musician and
herald, who held the office of Lyon king of
arms in Edinburgh. He died at Edinburgh,
January 24th, 1890. He w.is an authority on
Scottish heraldry, and edited several antiqua-
rian works. For many years he acted as
musical critic to the Edinburgh newspapers,
and was a veryentliusiastic amateur musician.
