Card, William

[E] Card, William, flute player and composer,
born at Salisbury, in 1788; died at London,
October 4th, 1861. He composed a large
number of pieces of music for the flute,
chiefly arrangements, and published a few
pf. works. His son, Edward J. Card, also
a flute player, was a member of Her Majesty's
private baud, and of the Philharmonic orches-
tra. He died in London, May 16th, 1877,
aged 60.
