- Causton, Thomas
[E] Causton, Thomas, composer and organist,
who flourished during the 16th century. He
was a Gentleman of the Chapel Royal during
the reigns of Edward VI., Mary, and Eliza-
beth. He died on October 28, 1569. Con-
tributed to Day's " Certain Notes set forth in
four and three parts, to be sung at the Morn-
ing, Communion, and Evening Prayer." His
compositions appear also in Day's " Psalms,"
London, 1568.entry id: 82-L-25
