Champness, Samuel

[E] Champness, Samuel, bass singer, born
about 1730 ; died September, 1803. He was
a Gentleman of the Chapel Royal, sang at the
principal concerts in London during the latter
half of the 18th century, and had a voice of
great richness, which was much admired.
