died November 24, 1871. Was for many years
principal second violin in the Crystal Palace
Orchestra. In the forties he gave concerts in
London, with his five children, of whom the
best known were George Collins, violoncellist.
who died in 1869, and Viotti Collins, violinist,
who is still actively engaged in his profession.
