[E] Coombe, William Francis, organist and
composer, was born at Plymouth, 1786. He
studied under his father (a singing master)
and W. Jackson of Exeter. Organist at Chard,
Somerset, 1800; Totnes, Devon, 1802-11;
and Chelmsford, 1811-22. He probably died
at Chelmsford about 1850. He composed a
few pianoforte sonatas, and other works.
